Creating texture with mixed media

Some experiments with texture, inspired by this week's Inspiration Avenue challenge.
There are lots of ways to create interesting textures in mixed media work...
With scraps of lace or fabric ...
By drawing into wet paint, tearing paper or punching holes...
Rubbing oil pastel over crumpled tissue paper...
Applying paint with a sponge, folding paper...
Wrapping with thread...
Scraping away layers of paint for a rough, aged look...
You'll find all the submissions for this week's theme over at the Inspiration Avenue blog.

  2. Angie, these are all such amazing textures! You've shown some I would not have thought of. The colors are complimentary with the brown tending toward orange-y, and look gorgeous together. And I love the way you have assembled it in your unique style!
