Being in print is always exciting, so I was really happy to be approached by the very lovely editor of Grace magazine in China to feature my work. I wanted to share some of the resulting article here...
I love the look of the Chinese characters but have included bits of the interview below in English for those who, like me, don't have a languages degree!
What's your normal day like?
A typical day can include taking photographs of new items for my online shop, speaking to one of my lovely customers about a commission, or designing and creating new items (my favorite part!)
If I’m beginning a new piece I usually start by browsing through my huge collection of papers, buttons, and other ephemera; I never fail to find something to inspire me.
What made you decide to be an artist?
I don’t think I ever made a decision. I was very aware of and uplifted by color from a very early age, and I spent hours as a child drawing and painting.
What idea would you like to share with the world
Beauty and meaning can be found in the most unexpected places; often it’s just about looking at things in the right way.
Congratulations to you. how exciting to see yourself in print. you must have been so excited. your pictures are all beautiful. have a great day.
