Let it shine

This week's was Inspiration Avenue creative challenge was all bright and gleamy - the theme was "Shine".
I very rarely use shiny things in my work - I'm much more naturally inclined to rusty, tea stained or otherwise aged things. I like that about the challenges though - they make you step outside your comfort zone a bit!
For this mini canvas I've used some silver acrylic paint, along with sequins and tiny little metallic hearts (I think they were originally from a confetti packet!) to decorate. I'll be adding this (and a few more of these mini canvases with easels) to my etsy shop this week.

Click here to see lots more lovely shiny things, but be warned - you may have Take That singing in your head all week afterwards...!

  4. This is a very pretty piece. I love the colours & the pattern - very nice!

Since I painted a gold background for my "Shine" contribution I've gone mad on metallic paints. I'm part way through a bronze & silver now :-)

  7. I realize I'm late getting here, Angie, but I sure love how you put the "Shine" in this challenge piece. Like you, I'm not much of a glitter gal. But you handled this challenge quite well and created a lovely piece that may be outside your comfort zone, but truly lovely and inspirational. You KNOW how much I love your work, and this piece is no exception. Great IA challenge entry.
