The Colour Purple

This is my submission for the Inspiration Avenue "purple" challenge this week - a mixed media piece using collage, acrylics and oil pastels, on a circular canvas (yes - I've started using those new art supplies!)

I am expecting a wonderful array of indigo, periwinkle, lavender and all shades in between to be on display at the Inspiration Avenue blog later today, do come over and have a look!

On a side note, I think purple may be one of the words that has no rhyme in the English language - unless anyone can think of one??

  3. Thanks Stephanie - I thought of you and our shared love of butterflies whilst I was painting this!

    Eva thanks so much!

Shel, I have NO idea what a "stool sweat" is, but thanks hon!

  4. I have to tell you, this piece brought tears to my eyes. My grandmother has been gone for a long time, but I remember from when I was a child visiting her, she loved two things very much: the color lavender, and butterflies. You captured them both, beautifully. Thank you for sharing.

  6. Gorgeous work on that round canvas!
I can look forward to a few more I think :)

    Hirple: walking with a limp
    Curple: the rump

Two words that rhyme with purple.
No one uses them anymore...Let's bring 'em back!
