I saw this busker in Manchester City Centre ....

...and I still can't work out how he did this pose without falling over!
Any thoughts?!

  1. I'm not sure what a busker is, but is this a real man? Very cool!

  2. Hmm. Something to do with the metal strip underneath him on that black cloth? Not sure, but it's very impressive!

  3. Sharon I didn't realize that was just a UK expression! Yes he's a real man - a busker is just someone who performs in the street (sings, dances, mimes etc)

Deb hmm good thinking, I'm still not sure that would support him though ...

  5. Ha ha see this is why I took the picture Bunny - so if I was accused of having too many cocktails I'd have photographic evidence! ;)

  7. My hubby (who loves figuring stuff out)says that he has a metal bit bolted into the ground under the cloth which is supporting a plinth that goes up his leg and under his butt which is why his coat is long to hide the seat part ;)

    ♥ Love the hubby ♥

  8. Thanks for explaining what a busker is. From the looks of things, I am wondering if he has a sort of chair/seat that fits under the tails. I can envision a small seat under the tails and stool legs which helps him balance and be able to stay in that same position for a long time. Very inventive. Thanks for sharing this.

  9. Oooh, quite amazing! I'm going with the explanation of some sort of a seat that is hidden under his coat and pants leg. He may be sitting there quite comfortably rather than looking like he's defying physics!

I love this! That's the trouble with living in a small town ~ we never see anything fun like this!

  11. Ah you're all ingenious - I knew you'd have good ideas!

I can see how the metal seat thing would work in theory. He was moving around though, he didn't just stay in that one position; I'll have to look out for him again and see if that theory still works with his other moves!
