A Pocket Full of Sunshine

This week's Inspiration Avenue team challenge was an interesting phrase - "a pocketful of sunshine".

I made this little ACEO for the challenge. It's a new experience for me to have finished it yesterday - usually my submission is completed about 5 minutes before the cut-off time!

ACEOs are little collectible artworks that measure just 3.5 x 2.5", so appropriately, this would actually probably fit into your pocket!  The butterfly is hand-sewn onto a spare scrap of decorative paper, and the warm yellow background is painted in acrylics.

If you'd like to see the other interpretations of this week's theme you can find them all here later today. You'd also be more than welcome to take part in the next challenge - we love having new participants!

  3. Thanks Yvonne! They sell the little mini easels at my local art shop, but I'm sure you can get them in the US too. If you want one let me know, I'd be happy to get one for you if you can't find one :)

Thanks Shel! Yes, it was a lovely challenge for January this, wasn't it, it's nice to use some bright colours!

  4. I get really nervous when I read the phrase 'hand sewn' - me and sewing was never a great match! This is really cute and yes, it does make a great little pocket of sunshine - just remember to take it out before the clothes go in the wash!

  6. Ahhhhhhhhh, I love the colors!

I am back up and running since my old Gateway Notebook caught that nasty "Storm Worm Virus" last week and it ate my entire hard drive. I lost everything. I now have a new Dell Studio 17 laptop, new Internet Security and a huge supply of data sticks to put my work on so this never happens again. If you don't have your work backed up, please get some data sticks and do so. I would hate to have this happen to anyone.

I am back in the saddle and catching up on Blog visits this morning!

    Love,
    LuLu~*xoxo
