Coaster art - work in progress

I bought these coasters from a pound shop a while ago. I had no idea at the time what I would do with them but I loved the colour and chunkiness of the wood. I bought 3 sets of 4 (wish I'd bought more now!)
One of my New Year's resolutions was to make some artwork just for myself, rather than with the aim of exhibiting/selling it, and I thought it would be interesting to have 12 mini pieces of art on wood, all hung together! So I've started playing around with adding images to them ...
Top right: vintage image transfer straight onto the wood
Bottom right: another image transfer, this time onto white paint
Bottom right: Printed tissue paper and a rusty key

I'm quite pleased with them so far - especially considering they were only 25p each!

  2. What a find those were! Such a good idea, Angie! I think that you have to get more...these could be the bginning of a whole new exhibit, lol! I am serious though, wouldn't it be fun to chose and collect from your line of mini artworks?
Hope you are well my friend...♥ ♥ ♥

The coasters are lovely aren't they? They seem to be out of stock now sadly but I've been hunting for something similar! x

  3. Just strolling by to see what ja been up too! I see lots of good stuff going on here. Now I am going to have to make myself some of those cool wood coasters or wall hangings! Such a great idea, I have a place on my wall that needs just this. I will have to look for some wood now.
Love my creative friends, I hope you are having the beginnings of an amazing summer!
    XOXO
