Back to basics - artist playroom

I've been wanting to join in with the artist's playroom for ages, and this week's theme (drawing/sketching) felt like the perfect one.
I mostly work in mixed media these days, but drawing was my first love. And you never forget your first love do you?

There's something wonderfully pure about making art with just a pencil and some paper. This is graphite and white pencil on pastel paper. It's not technically "finished" but I think it is, if you know what I mean!

  3. So glad to have you join APR, isn't is great to get back to your roots? It feels so good to let your hand do what it knows so well, pencil to paper. This is such an excellent drawing, Hope to see you next week!

  8. Such a lifelike drawing, the coloured paper makes it so dramatic. I really love this piece. I can't draw people and I'm in awe of artists who can.
