Sun-baked Tree
This is the commission that I've just finished.
My buyer makes the most beautiful lampwork beads (she has a shop on etsy if you don't want to take my word for it!) and I was commissioned to do a painting inspired by them.
After discussing a couple of options, we decided that one of my tree paintings, with "bead-like" leaves, would work well. Though I was spoiled for choice as to which beads I wanted to base the colours on, in the end we decided on this set as a colour reference -
It was a very interesting way to approach a painting and the beads were so lovely - they were a great inspiration!

How wonderful to choose something as a color reference and then have the creative license to run with it.
ReplyDeleteLuLu and Laura - aw, thank you! You're both very kind!
ReplyDeleteTammy yes it was a really fun way to go about a painting - not something I'd been asked to do before, but it's always good trying something new!
Hey Angie, I was tagged, and had to follow the rules and tag 6 more... you are one of my 6 tagged. Check out my blog post for further information :)
